We are now accepting PLATS to be recorded electronically.

(Can be used to obtain a certified copy of a Birth, Death or Marriage Certificate from Richmond County.)

All documents pertaining to land transactions are recorded and maintained in this office. We also keep and maintain vital records, including births, deaths, and marriages. This office also issues marriage licenses, administers Notary oaths, retains military discharges, cemetery records, grave removals, plats, genealogy information, as well as other useful information.

Richmond county was formed November 10, 1779. The county was formed from Anson county. Land Records and marriage records prior to this date can be found in the Anson county register of deeds office.

We are committed to the proper enforcement of NC General Statutes governing our office and in providing prompt and professional service to all who use this office.
